Share a specific window or screen you picked yourself — never an auto-detected target.

macOS excludes the overlay from screen capture on every platform — where that stops covers the boundary. Auto-detect share modes are the one thing that can grab more than you intended.

Zoom: one setting to change

  1. Open Settings → Share Screen → Advanced.
  2. Set Screen capture mode to Advanced capture with window filtering.
  3. Close and reopen Settings to confirm it saved.
